Sandymount and Baggot Lane, Dublin 4

The room holds twelve. The first class goes at six in the morning.

We run personal training and small group training in Dublin 4. Below is our week exactly as it runs: the programme, the times, and who each slot is for.

Our week, hour by hour

Pick a day. This is the timetable, not a sample of it.

Every session at Sandymount is capped at twelve. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we lift. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays we go conditioning and power. Some of those slots are an over 60s class, some are a mum and tots class, and some start at six in the morning.

Six o'clock

Nobody looks forward to a 6am alarm. A room capped at twelve is a different question.

That is what the cap is for. Twelve at Sandymount, six at Baggot Lane. Small enough that a coach corrects your set-up before it becomes a habit, and small enough that your absence is noticed.

Two studios, both Dublin 4

One is inside a GAA club. One is a room on Baggot Lane.

What we run

Three programmes, and two classes built for people the gym usually forgets.

Every workout is different. You will not repeat one at Movement, and after two months you will not have repeated a circuit either.

Eight week block

Lift

The three big compound lifts, squat, deadlift and bench press, with the isolation and accessory work that makes them go up. Strength, power and the capacity to lift for life.

Forty five minutes

Hybrid

Strength, functional fitness and conditioning together. A full body session built to move your cardiovascular and muscular endurance at once, whichever end of it the day calls for.

All abilities

Hyrox

Eight one kilometre runs and eight functional stations. Train for your first event, or take the session for what it is: a hard, complete test of cardio and strength.

Six weeks, over 55s

Vitality

Built for residents over 55 in Dublin 4 and around it. Mobility, flexibility, strength and energy, and a real reduction in the risk of age related injury.

Tuesday and Thursday, 11:00

Mum and tots

A post natal class where the tots come with you. Same coaching, same room, at the hour of the day that actually works.

Six or twelve weeks

Nutrition

Coaching over six or twelve weeks, tailored plans, and the cook books and guides to go with them. Training is half of it and we would rather not pretend otherwise.

What people say once they are in the room.

Love these classes! I started weight training with them for the first time two months ago and I already feel the results. I feel stronger! Groups are small and coaches are very knowledgeable.

Elena Uribe

I do a mix of strength, sweat and squad classes, improving my strength and cardio, and losing fat. The trainers are all nice, knowledgeable and encourage you to push it! I really see and feel the difference in myself.

Dave Healy

Great, friendly, community environment. For all fitness levels and skills. Lovely, highly skilled trainers, that keep you motivated to give it your all and stay on track. I'm feeling healthier, fitter, and stronger, thanks to everyone at Movement.

The one week of the year the 6am is somebody else's problem.

Our retreat takes the training out of Dublin 4 altogether: the same coaching and the same group, in an open-sided training barn above the Mondego river, with the kayaks and the hammocks a short walk down the hill.

Two people rowing side by side on a timber deck under gymnastic rings, trees behind them A swimming pool with someone floating on the surface, wooded hillside behind Dishes of prepared food laid out together, with the farmhouse and the pool above
